[subs] ZERO x Elections - Sho-san cuts (2017.10.22)

Hello everyone and happy 36th birthday to our favorite news caster!

[personal profile] arashitranslation  and I are very proud to bring you this project that we worked on for several months, a selection of cuts from the 5 hours special live program ZERO x Elections broadcast to cover the house of representatives elections. All in all, our cut is 45 minutes long :D

Before you go "Eeewww politics", let me tell you what you will find in this video:

Annnnnd~
With this video, I have officially willingly followed more political news out of Japan than my own country. (Which I am aware of because UK politics follows, me, not I it, you see... There's no escaping the MayBot after all.)

I really love Zero as a news outlet, because they really do seem to be trying to open a dialogue with their viewers and encourage people, not just to be aware of whats going on in the world, but to actively be a part of it, you know? Rather than just sitting there spewing doom and gloom at people. I don't know about other casters, but Sakurai especially tries to end his segments on a positive or hopeful note if possible, which is refreshing.

I really liked the relaxed atmosphere when he sat down with his peers to discuss how the current economic climate is seen by them.

Oh dear, I totally get it, sometimes my mum get mad at me when I go visit her and she is watch the news and I'm almost clueless on what is happening because I don't watch it, I'm more aware of what's happening in Japan X'D

Zero was first created to appeal to young adults, and Murao-san is stil very adamant on this point, his aim is still to appeal to them so they take an interest in society, politics and to stand up for themselves. Sho-kun follows in his footstep (especially since he was heavily involved (as much as an idol can be) on people of 18 and 19 years old being able to vote).

I don't watch Zero on the other days so I'm less used to the other casters, except the ones who are with Sho on monday, but as it's Murao-san who sets the mood, i bet it's the same as well :)
