[Sho Beat] (2007.03.03) Sho talking about Nino in Paris and Berlin
I was waiting DESPERATELY for this Sho Beat *0*
After the now infamous Music Station where Nino talked about Paris (cuddles to
nyanchan for the trans/subs <3 ) where I was half "OMG NINO YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT PARIS" and half "BAKA NO MINNA-SAN WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE HIM!" XD
Well like, 1 hour after that, I felt the urge to write an email to Sho (as he's the only one who can read English) to tell him that Nino actually said the truth and that Arashi has many fans outside of Japan, in Europa, USA etc blablablabla... and that we LISTEN to their music (Nino no Baka! Why did he say that XDDD)
I wasn't hoping for him to read my message on his radio show (well yes I was a little hoping for it, who am I kidding, it's my baby-Sho <3), I was just worried to give the message that Nino said the truth.
But apparently, I was not the only one to write about that matter, which makes me REALLY HAPPY!

Paris part MP3: Mega | MF | 4S (a bit of a translation here.)
You can hear the interesting part starting around 14:30.
I vaguely hear him talk about Paris/Berlin/Nino/IwoJima/Premiere/Music Station, at some point, I "think" he still says that he cannot believe it! He also mentions Jun and Hana Yori Dango ("maybe" the japanese girl who wrote was the one that I talked to at the Paris Premiere, I remember her asking me how the hell I knew about Arashi, and I said it was because of HYD (Jun-bait herelike so many others), well it's just a supposition, as the Japanese girl apparently was at the Paris Premiere, and I suppose she went to see the Mona Lisa portrait because she mentions Sho's drawing from G no Arashi (BWAHAHHAHAHA XD ) and it seemed to me that the one I talked to went to the Louvres too (as she showed me the pictures of Nino at Versailles (he talked about it in his Game Nikki) and there were others from different touristic locations in Paris)), and drama...
Well I would really love to know what he's really talking about and what his real reaction was! I'm not asking for a translation, but a general idea on his whole talk on this subject, onegaishimasu~ m(_ _)m
At least I hope this made some people happy to hear Sho talking about this (I know this made me DOKIDOKIDOKI LIKE MAD XD~ ), the whole point for me here is that Arashi knows that they have fans everywhere (and that Nino said the truth GOD DAMN IT! >< (except that we DON'T have a JPop channel in France XD AHAHAHA He just said that so the others would believe him XD (so smart!)))
EDIT: The amazing
ringononohara translated it, you can see it here, thank you my dear!

Note: the “…” is parts that I couldn’t get as I couldn’t find the words he was saying in the dictionary... ^^; And the parts in brackets are parts that I kind of think I get the drift but aren’t really sure about the real translation. ^^;
And the part that Sho really talks about Paris starts around 16:48 so I started translating from here. ^^
[Start- 16:48]
Pen name Riva-san (??) [Sho reads her letter]
I just came back going to Paris for my graduation trip the day before. ….
We went to the Louvre and when you talk about the Louvre, you talk about Mona Lisa and when you talk about Mona Lisa, then I can’t can’t help but think about Sho-kun in G no Arashi… I was really influenced by seeing the real Mona Lisa. … (something about wanting to send Sho-kun the influence of the REAL Mona Lisa) I wanted to say “Sho-kun, THIS is Mona Lisa!”
….. (about them talking behind Tama (??) and how when someone is talking in the front and you have people chatting behind them it’s not a very nice thing to do… this is the continuation of what Sho was talking about before he read this letter.)
Nino told me “Sho-kun, Arashi is very popular in Paris!”
I told him: “You’re lying! …”
And Nino said: “Nonono, Paris was really cool. Matsumoto is in Hana Yori Dango, and he’s going to be in various dramas afterwards as well, and we have a newscaster, and we also have someone involved in zoos, and also stage plays, so they know!”
So I said, “Now, no matter how you think about it, it’s because they researched about us and so they know not only Arashi…”
Nino insisted: “No! You really aren’t aware of it?!”
And I said: “No, to have Paris noticing us is impossible!!!”
Sho: So we talked about that, but no matter what, Nino keeps saying: “Arashi seems very popular in Paris!”
But then I’m really told that by writers. It seems like fans want us to have things like concerts in Paris. These letters really came. Putting the location aside, having that said to me, it really made me smile.
Ninomiya gave us bags from Berlin as souvenirs and I’m using it today. Each member has a different one. He gave it to us in Music Station when we came out calling “Good work everyone!” and gave us all a bag with “Berlin” written on it.
[End- 17:50]

I love how Sho is still down to earth, he's got it right, Nino thought it was because of their various works that we know them, but it's clearly because we searched for them!!! (ROOOFL @ "We have someone involved in zoos" XDDDDD)
And I'm so glad he talked about concerts!!! (in my email, I gave him some informations about different Japanese concerts we had in France)
I'm so happy so many wrote to him!
Thank you once again for the translation <3<3<3<3

Yeah, Sho is pretty down to earth! And I dunno why, I guess it was cuz I was tired and typing it around 1am-ish that my brain couldnt' register what "oubei" was! @_@;; There is a line in there where he says after “You’re lying!" and he goes "Paris de wa nai! Oubei de wa nai!" (if memory serves me correctly) Which means "Not in Paris! Not in Europe or America!" I guess they never thought fans from non-asia areas would be listening to Japanese songs.. ^^;
Oh! Who did concerts in France?! =O

After that we had more known Visual Key bands giving concerts in Paris, but the real pionner of JPop in France was Kokia, whom I'm a HUGE fan of (when I've learned she was about to come to France, I fell on my knees.. seriously. She's not even that famous in Japan, so how the hell would I ever hoped she would come one day in France!), it was last year in Paris, in a small concert room for 450 persons... and all the seats were sold out in only two weeks XD~ (all of Kokia staff were surprised they even sold tickets, but to sold ALL the tickets, they wouldn't believe it).
And she gave a wonderful concert, which was the first real JPop concert in France. 2 days after that, I had the huge chance to see her again at the Midem of Cannes (because I tried my luck with her manager who was a really nice woman, when I was waiting in the line, and she gave me and my friend two invitations for her private concert), which is like the "Festival de Cannes" but for music, so you have only professionals and journalists. So we were the only two fans in the crowd for her (I also saw Rin' and Rie Fu), she even recognized us *0* Out of that, I talked with some journalists (because we had uchiwas and all and they were really curious, so we did lots of Kokia advertising XDDD), and apparently, it was only since last year (which was, at this time 2005) that Japanese music started to interest intertional business people, because this midem had like, the whole crowd filled with Japanese businessmen, meaning, starting 2006, Japanese music really started, financialy, and busenessly talking, to be exported. And that was quite true, because right after that, there were, in France at least, two Japanese labels created for publishing Japanese music in France (I think it's "Wasabi" and the other one I don't remember), so far they are only selling like soundtracks and really good JPop, like Kokia, and Arai Akino (like, I don't think they will ever sell Ayumi Hamasaki stuff, my poor Ayu), and that's how, in the middle of last year, Kokia was labeled in France (and Spain). Her new album was released last November in France and Spain BEFORE JAPAN! And she gave us another concert, last January, this time at a bigger place: Le Bataclan (which is REALLY famous in Prestigious in Paris), their was 1100 persons, the room was all crowded, it was wonderful ;^;
As for the other artists, we also had Kaggeru, they even made their goodbye-last-and-ultimate concert just before they disbanded... in Paris/Le Bataclan @_x (I mean.... they have more fans in Japan... but they said goodbye... in Paris!). We also had Arai Akino two months after the first Kokia concert, she also gave one in Germany.
I know we had others less known Japanese artists which I don't remember the name, but they were all produced in concert by Paris Visual Prod.
Err... that's a lot of talking here ^0^;;;; But I'm all excited because as I know all of this, I know that IF THEY WANT TO (and if damn-Johnny-the-devil WANTS TO), Arashi can come to France, we have EVERYTHING they need: labels blablabalbalbalablabalbal etc... and the fans XD~ (that's mainly what I said to Sho in my last email XD )
OMG I talked too much, must go to work now XD

Coz in this case i think we owe a huuuge thank you to Alice barthelemy who did this interview http://www.orient-extreme.net/index.php?menu=musique&sub=artistes&article=659
because she's the one who godsmacked Nino by telling him all this!
no subject
I loved her interview, she asked really good questions, and if it could have some influence on Arashi in France, maybe, sometime in the future, we owe her so much!
no subject
For the concerts though, I think Sho meant "Hisha" as in normal writers because he said "haita yo!" which I took for letters coming in.
Oh! Thanks for the article! x3 It's nice to read about Nino's thoughts. And I actually found out something new. o.O; I didnt' know KAT-TUN was formed before Arashi... o.o;;

C'est cool, il commence enfin à croire Nino ^^ (un concert peut etre dans quelque années :p)

It breaks my heart as a German who went to Berlin to welcome him. But well~ nvm...
no subject
From the review I've read, most of the German fans were already inside the theater at the time Nino arrived on the red carpet, and I don't think they could scream and squee once he was in the theater :/ But that doesn't mean he didn't notice the German fans!
At least Sho got to talk a lot about Berlin in News Zero!

hello
i'm japanese but living in the states, and thank you for tenjo-style-san for giving me a link for this post. and also super huge thank you to akira_shocku for giving me a link for the interview!!!
i just wanted to give a link to those who do not speak french but understand english, cuz that's me, and since i really wanted to read the interview that gave nino a reason to say "arashi is very popular in paris! believe me please!"
i used the web-translation site called babel fish.

As I'm French, if you need a better explanation of some parts he said in the interview (because automatic online translator are sometimes not very accurate), feel free to ask ^^

they must have meant itunes or something. On American itunes you can listen to a jpop/anime station (I've never heard Arashi on it yet) or JRadio, a Japanese Christian station (which I totally don't understand O_O;;)
You live in Paris and you went to the Iwo Premiere? *sigh* So jealous!
BTW, I hope you don't mind if I friend you = )

And no I don't live in Paris (I live 800km from there, in the South of France, but I went there nevertheless (I HAD TO AAAAAH!!! XD ))
And nope I don't mind friending you of course, just added you back ^^
